My Reflections on Netbooks
Hi, My name is Fraser I am a year 5 student at Glenbrae School and I am in Room 9. My Teacher is Mr. D. Nath.
This year was an exciting year for me because I started using a Chromebook as soon as I was in the classroom. I was fascinated by the thought of doing so many cool things on my Chromebook but it took me a long time to really start using it effectively. There were so many things to learn and I tried my best to learn as much as I could from my teacher, Whanau and friends.
These are my reflections on the use of my Chromebook this year.
The things that learnt from my Teacher was how to use the netbook, how to use the internet safely, how to access the class site and how to blog. The things that I learnt by myself was how to type faster, the keyboard shortcuts and knowing what sites I need to go on and sites I am not allowed to go on. I have learnt how to take screenshots and how to change my password. The things I have learnt from people out of school is how to access shortcuts to sites and how to bookmark sites.
I am able to think about the topics I am going to research on and write questions about it using google docs and sharing my work on the blog. I read more online books, stories and articles while looking for information, deciding which sites are safe for me to access and use information from, sharing my learning on my blog and class blog.
